BUILDcap: Loans for Contractors

BUILDcap is designed to empower minority- and women-owned contractors (MBEs and WBEs) by breaking down barriers to accessing capital.

BUILDcap isn’t just a loan fund — it’s a cornerstone of AltCap’s commitment to creating opportunities for growth for contractors who need it most. With BUILDcap, certified and aspiring women and minority contractors can access the financial support they need to take on bigger projects, grow their businesses, and contribute to their communities and help grow the economy.

About BUILDcap

Launched in 2024 with funding from the Opus Foundation, BUILDcap provides an alternative to traditional bank loans and high-interest financing options like hard money lenders and credit cards.

This program is backed by a coalition of partners, including the Opus Group, the Opus Foundation, CrossFirst Bank, Builders Avenue, e2E, and contractor associations across the Kansas City region. Together, we’re building pathways to critical resources, expert services, and affordable capital for minority, women, and disadvantaged contractors (MWDBEs) in the construction and trades industry.
